ABOUT THE THEATRE
The origins of the Prince of Wales Theatre dates back to the 1880s, but the building was replaced in 1937. The new theatre was designed in an Art Deco style by Robert Cromie and the foundation stone was laid by popular British singer Gracie Fields.
In 2004, present owner Cameron Mackintosh oversaw extensive changes at the theatre. The successful musical 'Mamma Mia!' had its home at the Prince of Wales, and became the longest running musical in the theatre's history. The Prince of Wales, situated in Coventry Street, London, is home to the popular Broadway comedy musical, 'Book of Mormon'and has been since it opened in the West End in 2013.
