Matthew Croke is the new London Aladdin

Disney musical Aladdin welcomed some new cast members at the Prince Edward Theatre this week, with Matthew Croke taking over the title role of Aladdin on Monday 5th June. This is the first major cast change for the show since it officially opened at the Prince Edward Theatre on 15th June 2016.

Matthew Croke leads the cast of Aladdin after appearing in Annie Get Your Gun (Crucible Theatre), Singin’ in the Rain (UK Tour), Funny Girl (Menier Chocolate Factory), Shall We Dance (Sadler’s Wells), A Chorus Line (Crucible Theatre), Wicked (Apollo Victoria Theatre) and West Side Story (UK and Ireland tour). He joins original West End cast members Jade Ewen who plays Jasmine, Trevor Dion Nicholas as the Genie, Don Gallagher as Jafar and Irvine Iqbal as the Sultan.

Nick Cavaliere also joined the cast as Iago, as former ensemble members Miles Barrow, Leon Craig and Daniel de Bourg have taken over the roles of Omar, Babkak and Kassim.

Aladdin The Musical features spectacular musical numbers, including ‘Arabian Nights’, ‘A Whole New World’ and ‘Friend Like Me’, with music by legendary Alan Menken and lyrics by Howard Ashman, Chad Beguelin and Tim Rice.
